- 1Preparation and positioning. Use stable parallel bars, a straight bar, or rings with a safe mounting and dismounting method. Establish the deepest pain-free range and the lockout standard before loading the set. Set the rings at a height that permits a safe support and step-off; keep them close enough to control without forcing the shoulders.
- 2Starting position. Start in a stable support with the elbows extended but not forced into painful hyperextension, ribs controlled over the pelvis, and the apparatus quiet. Begin in a stable ring support with the rings neutral or in the declared orientation.
- 3Eccentric phase. Bend the elbows and lower the body under control while preserving the defined shoulder path. Lower between the rings while allowing the rings to move naturally but preventing them from drifting apart uncontrollably.
- 4Bottom position. Reach the same depth marker on every rep without bouncing or losing the support. Reach the planned depth with the shoulders supported and the rings quiet enough to reverse.
- 5Concentric phase / lockout. Press the supports away, extend the elbows, and return to a stable top position. Press the rings down and in as needed to return to support.
- 6Breathing and bracing. Inhale and brace during the descent as appropriate; exhale through the press while keeping the trunk and shoulder girdle organized.
- 7Valid rep. A valid repetition begins and ends in the defined support, reaches the planned depth, and returns without a bounce, kip, or unplanned assistance. The support, depth, and ring path remain controlled without a kick or unplanned strap assistance.
Häufige Fehler
Dropping into the bottom
Korrektur: Lower under control and stop at the planned pain-free depth.
Shoulders rolling forward
Korrektur: Maintain a supported shoulder girdle and reduce depth or assistance if control is lost.
Twisting or asymmetry
Korrektur: Use a stable setup and make both arms share the intended path.
Letting the rings flare apart
Korrektur: Reduce range or use assistance until the rings remain close and the shoulder path is controlled.
Sicherheit
Progressionen & Alternativen
- RegressionDip am Parallelbarren— Remove ring instability while retaining the vertical press.
- ProgressionWeighted Ring Dip— Add external load only after ring support and depth are stable.
- AlternativeStraight-bar Dip— Use a fixed bar with a different shoulder path.
