So führst du sie aus
- 1Preparation and positioning. Secure the external load so it cannot shift, strike the body, or change the intended line of movement. Check overhead clearance and place a stable step where a controlled dismount is possible.
- 2Starting position. Take the prescribed closed grip and begin with extended elbows in a controlled hang. Set the ribcage over the pelvis and keep the legs quiet.
- 3Concentric phase. Initiate a smooth pull by driving the elbows and upper arms down while controlling the shoulder girdle. Raise the body as one unit without a leg kick, hip pop, or cyclical swing.
- 4End position / lockout. Reach the chosen standard—normally chin clearly above the hand/bar line—with a neutral head and controlled shoulders. Keep the same standard across the set.
- 5Eccentric phase. Lower under control to the defined straight-arm start without dropping the final portion or allowing assistance to snap you downward.
- 6Breathing and bracing. Brace before the pull, exhale through the hardest portion as appropriate, and reset the breath in the controlled hang. Avoid prolonged breath-holding across multiple reps.
- 7Valid rep. The rep starts from the same extended-elbow position, reaches the defined top marker without kipping, and returns under control; grip, assistance, and range remain unchanged.
Häufige Fehler
Using trunk or leg momentum
Korrektur: Make the body quiet, lower the difficulty, and initiate the pull through the upper arms.
Shrugging through the pull
Korrektur: Keep the neck long and let the scapulae move under control rather than collapsing toward the ears.
Cutting the lower range
Korrektur: Return to the same controlled straight-arm marker on every rep.
Jutting the head to reach
Korrektur: Keep the head neutral and move the chest/body to the fixed marker.
Sicherheit
- Use only a pain-free overhead range you can control; current shoulder symptoms or marked side-to-side loss of motion require individualized assessment rather than forcing the textbook position.
- Heavy efforts and prolonged breath-holding can produce large acute blood-pressure responses; people with cardiovascular disease or uncontrolled hypertension need medically appropriate intensity and breathing guidance.
- For adolescents, older beginners, or anyone new to this movement, progress by technical competence and use qualified supervision rather than age-based loading targets or forced maximal attempts.
Progressionen & Alternativen
- RegressionChin-up— Reduce strength, balance, or coordination demand while rehearsing the key pattern before returning to Weighted Chin-up.
- ProgressionHeavier Weighted Chin-up— Increase load, range, instability, or skill demand after Weighted Chin-up is repeatable through the planned volume with reserve and no technique drift.
- AlternativeKlimmzug mit Zusatzgewicht— Train a similar primary pattern with a different stability, equipment, or joint-loading profile when Weighted Chin-up is impractical or poorly tolerated.
