So führst du sie aus
- 1Preparation and positioning. Clear the overhead/forward path, use collars, and place the load where it can be picked up and returned safely.
- 2Starting position. Stand with the load at the prescribed shoulder position, wrists stacked over forearms, ribcage over pelvis, and glutes/trunk braced.
- 3Eccentric / dip phase. Use a short, vertical dip with knees tracking over the feet while keeping the torso stacked.
- 4Bottom / transition position. Reverse the leg dip immediately without tipping forward or letting the bar separate from the shoulders.
- 5Concentric phase / lockout. Drive through the legs, transfer force into the bar, then finish the press with the arms as the knees and hips extend.
- 6Breathing and bracing. Brace before the loaded phase, maintain pressure through the sticking region, and exhale/reset only when the load is stable. Avoid prolonged breath-holding across repetitions.
- 7Valid rep. A rep uses the same start, depth, and lockout with no bounce, spotter contact, additional leg drive beyond the prescribed dip, or change in load path.
Häufige Fehler
Losing wrist–forearm alignment
Korrektur: Stack the wrist over the forearm and adjust grip, handle, or range before adding load.
Elbows escaping the intended path
Korrektur: Use a repeatable elbow angle that keeps forearms supportive and shoulders controlled.
Creating range with the lower back
Korrektur: Keep ribcage over pelvis and stop at the shoulder range you can own.
Bouncing or dropping the bottom
Korrektur: Lower under control to a fixed marker and reverse without rebound.
Sicherheit
- Current shoulder symptoms require an individually tolerated arm path and range; do not force a generic elbow angle or end position through pain.
- For heavy barbell work, use correctly set safeties and/or a competent spotter and collars; do not rely on a spotter to rescue a technically uncontrolled repetition.
- Heavy efforts and prolonged breath-holding can produce large acute blood-pressure responses; people with cardiovascular disease or uncontrolled hypertension need medically appropriate intensity and breathing guidance.
- For adolescents, older beginners, or anyone new to this movement, progress by technical competence and use qualified supervision rather than age-based loading targets or forced maximal attempts.
Progressionen & Alternativen
- RegressionStrict Barbell Overhead Press— Reduce strength, balance, or coordination demand while rehearsing the key pattern before returning to Barbell Push Press.
- ProgressionPush Jerk— Increase load, range, instability, or skill demand after Barbell Push Press is repeatable through the planned volume with reserve and no technique drift.
- AlternativeEinarmiges Landmine-Drücken— Train a similar primary pattern with a different stability, equipment, or joint-loading profile when Barbell Push Press is impractical or poorly tolerated.
