So führst du sie aus

  1. 1Preparation and positioning. Check the band's condition and anchor point; set the platform securely. Step your foot into the loop, extend the leg under control, and only then fully load it; keep the free foot beside it, not wrapped around the band.
  2. 2Starting position. Same as the Pull-up, but with the band's pull symmetric under the body. The band must not slide sideways off the foot or bar.
  3. 3Concentric phase. Pull without a "trampoline" pre-bounce. The body stays calm; the pulling path matches the strict pull-up. The assistance mainly helps the bottom position, so it doesn't automatically remove the strength demand near the bar.
  4. 4End position / lockout. Chin under control over the bar; no band kick or jutting the neck forward. Stabilize briefly.
  5. 5Eccentric phase. Lower over 2–4 seconds and control the increasingly tensioned band. Don't let it bounce you back up at the bottom.
  6. 6Breathing and bracing. Brace the torso before the pull; exhale through the hard part. Dampen band movement through pelvis and rib control.
  7. 7Valid rep. Same range of motion as the Pull-up; band parameters stay unchanged within the set. No jump-start and no extra leg extension used as momentum.

Häufige Fehler

  • Using the band as a catapult

Korrektur: Pause 1 second calmly at the bottom before pulling.

  • Changing band setup between sets

Korrektur: Log the band, length, and foot position so progress stays comparable.

  • Knee in the loop with no exit plan

Korrektur: Use the foot variant and a platform instead.

  • Too much assistance

Korrektur: Switch to a weaker band, or test an unassisted pull-up.

Sicherheit

  • Shoulder: the overhead hang is still present — only use a cleared, pain-free grip/range.
  • Teens 14–17: band recoil and the exit need direct supervision and a platform.
  • Older adults: access and grip matter — consider trainer assistance or the lat pulldown instead.
  • Cardiovascular or reduced bone density concerns: intensity/setup needs individual clearance; consider a guided machine instead.
